Two tracks reach the top 10 on Billboard’s Hot Trending Songs chart for the first time this week, with one debuting inside the region while another rises into the competitive area. The improving cut is a big win for both acts attached to the tune, with the featured musician joining a small group of some of the most popular women in the global music industry with her first major win.
“Who Are You” by BamBam and Seulgi bolts from No. 12, where it debuted last week, to No. 7. The track marks the first appearance inside the top 10 for both lead artist BamBam and Seulgi, who is perhaps best-known as one of the members of South Korean girl group Red Velvet. With her first placement between Nos. 1 and 10, the shining star becomes just the fourth solo female musician to find herself inside the uppermost space.
Among all solo female artists, Lisa is far and away the most successful name. The Blackpink singer and rapper has already pushed a pair of tunes—the only two she’s released on her own—into the top 10 on the Hot Trending Songs chart. Her global wins “Money” and “Lalisa” peaked at Nos. 2 and 3, respectively, making them the highest-charting tracks by a female artist in the ranking’s still-short history.
Adele kicked things off right with her recent single “Easy on Me,” which wasted no time in breaking into the top 10 on the then-new Hot Trending Songs chart. The Grammy and Oscar winner’s latest smash peaked at No. 8, and though it didn’t last very long, it still stands out as a rare hit among solo female talents.
Taylor Swift rounds out the list of female musicians who are credited as soloists who have managed to send at least one cut into the top 10 on the Hot Trending Songs chart. Swift’s “All Too Well” once appeared at No. 9 during the heyday of the singer-songwriter promoting her most recent album Red (Taylor’s Version).
Joining BamBam and Seulgi inside the top 10 on the latest list of the most-discussed tracks on Twitter is brand new K-pop girl group Kep1er. The just-starting act launches their single “Wa Da Da” in tenth place, becoming one of a very small number of all-female acts from South Korea to land one of the 10-most-talked-about titles on the social platform.
