Real Madrid Makes Head Coach Announcement

Real Madrid used its social media accounts and official website to release a statement regarding its outgoing head coach Carlo Ancelotti.

“Real Madrid C. F. and Carlo Ancelotti have reached an agreement to end his time as Real Madrid coach. Our club would like to express its gratitude and affection to one of the great legends of Real Madrid and world football,” the correspondence began.

“Carlo Ancelotti has led our team in one of the most successful stages in our 123 years of life and has become the coach with the most titles in our history: three European Cups, three Club World Cups, three European Super Cups, two La Ligas, two Copa del Reys and two Spanish Super Cups. In total, 15 titles during the six seasons in which he has belonged to our club.”

President Florentino Perez said that the Italian is “now forever part of the great Madrid family. We are proud to have been able to enjoy a coach who has helped us achieve so many successes and who, in addition, has represented the values of our club in an exemplary way”.

Madrid finished by saying that on Saturday, the Bernabeu will pay tribute to Ancelotti “in what will be Carlo Ancelotti’s last game as Real Madrid coach” as Los Blancos host Real Sociedad in the final La Liga match of the 2025/2026 season.

Changes are afoot at Real Madrid

While the La Real affair will be Ancelotti’s last game in charge, the same logic applies to Luka Modric lacing up his boots and donning his iconic white number 10 shirt after he announced his departure from the Spanish capital.

“The time has come. The moment I never wanted to come, but that’s football, and in life everything has a beginning and an end… On Saturday I will play my last game at the Santiago Bernabeu. I arrived in 2012 with the illusion of wearing the shirt of the best team in the world and with the ambition to do great things, but I could not imagine what came next. Playing for Real Madrid changed my life as a footballer and as a person. I am proud to have been part of one of the most successful eras of the best club in history,” the Croat wrote in his farewell letter.

In the coming days, we should expect Xabi Alonso to be announced as Real Madrid’s new head coach as Carlo Ancelotti takes the Brazil national team head coach job.
