Real Madrid And Brazil Star Decides To Leave Spanish Club

One of Real Madrid’s Brazilian stars has decided to leave the club but is currently short on offers to do so according to SPORT, which cited anonymous sources.

Rodrygo should forever be a modern day hero at the Bernabeu for his role in two Champions League wins in 2022 and 2024 following his move from boyhood club Santos at the turn of the decade.

Towards the end of a trophyless season in terms of major silverware last term, however, things started to turn sour when Rodrygo was snubbed for an El Clasico loss against FC Barcelona and then felt as if he never wanted to don the Los Blancos shirt again.

There was no immediate conflict with Carlo Ancelotti, who should now manage Rodrygo again as the head coach of the Brazilian national team.

But when the Italian was replaced by Xabi Alonso, Rodrygo reportedly had a change of heart and believed he might have a role to play in the midfield legend’s new team.

At the Club World Cup, though, where Madrid crashed out to Paris Saint-Germain, that didn’t appear to be the case as Alonso included youngsters such as Gonzalo Garcia and Arda Guler in his side which meant no room for Rodrygo.

On the cusp of the 2025/2026 season getting underway, Rodrygo has apparently gone back to his original thought and has again decided to flee the Spanish capital.

SPORT says that he feels mistreated by the club, and is currently fourth in the pecking order of the first team squad’s top stars while suffering from mental exhaustion.

Yet while anonymous sources from Rodrygo’s entourage told UOL that he has offers from up to 11 interested potential employers, the Catalan newspaper in question notes that, on the brink of August, nobody has come forward and made an offer for the 24-year-old.

As things stand, Rodrygo will report for preseason duty on August 4, facing the prospect of beginning a fresh campaign on the bench out of Alonso’s 4-4-2.

From Real Madrid to the Premier League

Though as mentioned none of these clubs have tabled an offer for Rodrygo, Premier League outfits look the most likely to take him from Real Madrid to England if he is to leave Spain.
