PSG Accept $98.5 Million Neymar Transfer Offer From Al-Hilal: Reports

Paris Saint-Germain have accepted an offer of €90 million ($98.5 million) for their forward Neymar from Saudi giants Al-Hilal according to UOL Esporte in Brazil.

In the early hours of Sunday morning, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano broke the news that Al-Hilal had made a “huge” offer to the world’s most expensive player, who has harbored hopes of returning to former club FC Barcelona this summer.

The player’s father had flown to the Middle East to negotiate according to ESPN Brasil. And later that day, L’Equipe in France reported that Neymar had agreed a two-year deal from the Saudi Pro League outfit overseen by the government-backed Public Investment Fund which also owns Premier
PINC
League club Newcastle United.

The French sports publication revealed that Neymar will be paid €80 million ($88 million) a season by Al-Hilal, though Relevo‘s Matteo Moretto put the figure at €100 million ($110 million) which will put the 31-year-old in line to top Forbes’ list of The World’s Highest Paid Athletes next year, which in 2023 was topped by Al-Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo.

When revealing that PSG had accepted Al-Hilal’s offer, UOL also stated that Neymar will receive the same €100 million a term sum worth more than double the $50 million he currently takes home on-field at the Parc des Princes according to Forbes.

The sale by PSG – who paid €222 million ($243 million) for Neymar by activating his 2017 Barca release clause – was agreed at the Paris offices of the Public Investment Fund UOL journalist Bruno Andrade explained.

Furthermore, as revealed by respected Brazilian journalist Benjamin Back, the Santos academy product is set to undergo his medical in the French capital he has called home for six years but appears to bid “bon voyage” to.

As in Paris, Neymar will reportedly wear the number 10 shirt for Al Hilal with his increasingly likely exit a factor in Kylian Mbappe possibly renewing at PSG after all.

Romano wrote on Twitter on Sunday that there is “no chance” of Neymar being loaned to Barca by Al-Hilal, which seems unlikely given the length of his expected contract.

Over at Mundo Deportivo, however, the Catalan newspaper was still holding out hope that Neymar could commit to Al-Hilal for four seasons making the leftfield operation possible.

An expert on Portuguese football based in Lisbon, Andrade expects Neymar’s transfer to “pave the way” for Joao Felix to join the Blaugrana.

Ultimately, however, head coach Xavi Hernandez needs to be convinced by known Felix fan and president Joan Laporta that the Atletico Madrid attacker will serve his sporting project well.
