PinkPantheress Recruits All-Star Lineup For ‘Fancy Some More?’ Remixes

In a crowded field of singers across the pop music spectrum, PinkPantheress stands in her own lane with a one-of-a-kind sound and approach to making music. Earlier this year, the British singer released her sophomore mixtape Fancy That, bolstered throughout the year by the TikTok virality of the single “Illegal.”

While PinkPantheress shined as a soloist on the mixtape, she’s now reinventing the project with a cast of star musicians, each with respected reputations in their respective genres, with the remix mixtape Fancy Some More? On the expanded Fancy That collection, PinkPantheress teams up with artists like Kylie Minogue, Anitta, Zara Larsson, SEVENTEEN, Jade, JT, and more to give new life to the popular original songs.

For “Illegal” alone, PinkPantheress delivered three different versions with Anitta, SEVENTEEN, and Nia Archives, with each artist delivering their own unique take on a reworked version of the viral hit. “Tonight,” another popular track on the original project, similarly has three remixes, including one with former Little Mix star Jade, who’s currently coming off the release of her own smash solo album last month. On “Stateside,” she brings along established pop icon Kylie Minogue as well as next-generation pop star Zara Larsson. Grammy-winning producer Kaytranada stops by to put his signature dance-R&B stamp on “Girl Like Me.” And though one might think hard-hitting rapper JT wouldn’t mesh well on a PinkPantheress song, they’re proven wrong by the former City Girls star on her remix of “Noises.”

“With this remix project, Fancy Some More?, I wanted to explore how the songs can live in different worlds while still holding onto the emotion of the original,” PinkPantheress said of the new project. “Hearing other artists reimagine it has been so inspiring. Each remix brings a new energy and texture, while still keeping the heart of the track intact. It’s been so exciting to see Fancy That take on these new, international lives and global perspectives.”

In creating the original Fancy That, PinkPantheress aimed to offer a look into her world independent of an album or any other project. Honoring each project released, regardless of whether it might be categorized as a mixtape or remix mixtape, is a critical value for the singer.

“I feel like any body of work these days [is overlooked],” she told Billboard. “For me, personally, a body of work is a body of work. I’ll call it something different, but realistically, I want it to do the same thing. I want it to impact the same — even though technically it’s not an album, I still want to treat it as such.”

Later this month, PinkPantheress will embark on the North American leg of her An Evening With PinkPantheress residency-style tour, taking Fancy That – and now, Fancy Some More? – to audiences in major cities across the country. It all starts Oct. 24 in Brooklyn and wraps up Nov. 13 in Oakland.
