Paris Hilton: Metaverse is the ‘future of being social’

Ur-influencer Paris Hilton, who pioneered the reality show trend, is riding on the coattails of the hottest new industry. She continues her crusade into the metaverse, calling it the “future of partying, going out, interacting with people and being social.”

Heiress is dropping Forever Fairytale, her first NFT collection

Hilton talked to the Tonight Show’s Jimmy Fallon about her experiences in the nonfungible token (NFT) community. She will be dropping her first NFT collection with Superplastic, a vinyl toy and digital collectibles company, on the Origin Protocol at an unspecified time in the near future, CoinTelegraph wrote.

The collection is called “Forever Fairytale” and is a collage of memories with her new husband Carter Reum. She gifted the first NFT in the collection to Fallon and others to members of the audience. Fallon pointed out that it was the first NFT giveaway in the history of TV.

Superplastic dropped its “Headtripz” NFT collection a week ago. It featured a collaborative piece with Hilton.

Hilton sold her first NFT for $1.1

This might be Hilton’s first NFT collection, but she has prior experience in the NFT space. She sold her “Iconic Crypto Queen” NFT for $1.1 million in April last year.

Hilton told The Guardian in an interview that she had begun investing in crypto in 2016. Her current NFT collection is comprised of 141 items, including works by Steve Aoki, Grimes, and a “Bored Ape”.

High hopes for Paris World

Paris Hilton is a somewhat unexpected and very well-informed advocate for the metaverse. Her metaverse island “Paris World”, which features a nightclub, mansion, amusement park, and petting zoo, debuted on Roblox gaming platform on New Year’s Eve. Hilton played a DJ set to a virtual crowd on that occasion.

So far, fewer than 64,000 people have visited Paris World according to Roblox stats. ALDC Studio World, inspired by Dance Moms, has had over 30.5 million visitors. However, Hilton isn’t about to give up on the island. She said:

I see Paris World evolving into a destination for different events throughout the year — Valentine’s Day, Super Bowl, New York Fashion Week.
