Paramore’s Debut Album Goes Platinum, 20 Years After Its Release

Even without a new album out, there’s a lot of excitement connected to Paramore at the moment. Lead singer Hayley Williams recently released 17 songs — not as a full-length or any kind of compilation, but simply for fans to enjoy. The group’s breakout project also earns a special honor that has been nearly two decades in the making.

All We Know Is Falling Earns a Platinum Award

Paramore’s debut album All We Know Is Falling has been certified platinum by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America). That means the set has finally moved one million equivalent units between pure purchases and streaming activity in the United States alone.

…A Decade After Going Gold

The band’s first full-length advances from gold status, which titles reach when they shift half a million units, to one million, more than 10 years after it collected its first honor from the RIAA. All We Know Is Falling was named a gold title in July 2014, and it’s taken more than a decade for it to rack up another half-million equivalent units.

Paramore’s RIAA-Certified Albums

Five Paramore albums have now been certified by the RIAA at one level or another. After Laughter is the lowest of the bunch, as it sits steady at gold status. All We Know Is Falling joins Brand New Eyes and the group’s self-titled effort, which were both named platinum in March 2016. Riot! — which helped take the band from underground celebrity to superstar status thanks to hits like “Misery Business” and “Crushcrushcrush” — jumped from double to triple platinum in 2021 and will likely add another plaque sometime soon.

“Emergency” and “Pressure” Have Also Scored RIAA Honors

Paramore released All We Know Is Falling in July 2005. The album never reached the Billboard 200, even after the group became well-known. Several singles from the set have been certified by the RIAA, despite none ever landing on the Hot 100. “Emergency” is a gold winner, while “Pressure” became an early career platinum smash.
