Metaverse boost at CES 2023
According to the Oorbit team, the collaboration with LG comes at a time when the metaverse is getting a lot of attention from across the board. This includes featuring prominently at the CES 2023, a global tech event that started on January 5, 2023 and will end on January 8, 2023.
Commenting on the development, Oorbit co-founder and CTO Pooya Koosha said in a statement:
“Our proprietary technology is the connective tissue that links virtual worlds together and makes it easy for developers and brands to bring their experiences into the metaverse. Scaling our technology for millions of LG TV customers is the next step in making the metaverse accessible for all.”
With the partnership, Oorbit users are set to tap into cloud streaming technology to experience interconnected virtual worlds. That will include benefiting from offerings such as attending virtual concerts and AI generative multiplayer games.
Translatable digital identity
To help users enjoy seamless experiences across the metaverse, Oorbit is working with LG to offer a persistent digital identity to consumers.
This means those with smart TVs can access different virtual world experiences with the same device they own. Users are thus not just benefiting from interoperable purchases, but mass adoption of the technology also becomes a reality.
Ash Koosha, CEO of Oorbit, commented:
“Imagine playing with a map you bought for one game and taking that same item into a concert where it becomes your backstage pass. Translatable digital ownership is possible with virtual worlds that are connected through Oorbit…”
