One Of The Best PlayStation 5 Games Is Finally Coming To PC — Release Date, Trailer And More

I’ve always been a big fan of Insomniac’s colorful Ratchet & Clank games. Fun platforming, a massive arsenal of creative guns and great characters exploring an exciting universe of danger, adventure and silly humor. What more could you want?

Well, up until now you could want to play these games on your PC, and you’d be disappointed. This series has only ever been on PlayStation, with the very first entry coming out in 2002 on the PS2. Now, after over two decades, PC players will finally get their turn.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, one of the PlayStation 5’s best (and best-looking) games, is headed to PC on July 26th. Here’s the trailer:

The PC version of the game will have some PC-specific features, including:

  • Ray-traced reflections and shadows with a number of different quality settings to choose from.
  • Ultra-wide monitor support with 21:9, 32:9 and 48:9 resolution options. Better, cut-scenes will also work in these ultra-wide formats.
  • Unlocked framerates.
  • NVIDIA DLSS 3, AMD FSR 2 and Intel XeSS, as well as Insomniac Games’ Temporal Injection.
  • Support for both mouse and keyboard and gamepads. DualSense controllers will work just like they do on a PS5 with their advanced haptic feedback.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will be available on Steam and the Epic Game Store at launch. Pre-ordering gets you the Pixelizer Weapon and the Carbonox Armor set early in game though these items are not exclusive to those who pre-order.

All told, this sounds like a potentially really terrific PC port. Obviously we won’t know for sure how good it performs until release, but I have a lot of confidence in Insomniac. Their Spider-Man Remastered on PC is fantastic and runs great. I have no reason to think this will be any different. I’m so glad to see Sony releasing so many of these great PlayStation exclusives on PC.
