Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, the third film in Jesse Eisenberg’s Now You See Me film series, is new in theaters. How soon will it be available to stream at home?
The logline for the movie reads, “The Four Horsemen return along with a new generation of illusionists performing mind-melding twists, turns, surprises, and magic unlike anything ever captured on film.”
The Four Horsemen— the group of illusionists from Now You See Me (2013) and Now You See Me 2 (2016) — consists of J. Daniel Atlas (Eisenberg), Merritt McKinney (Woody Harrelson), Jack Wilder (Dave Franco) and Henley Reeves (Isla Fisher). Morgan Freeman also reprises his role from the first two Now You See Me movies as Thaddeus Bradley, the mentor of the Four Horsemen.
Directed by Reuben Fleischer, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t also stars Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, Ariana Greenblatt and Rosamund Pike.
Currently, the only place you can see Now You See: Now You Don’t is in theaters, so check your local listings for showtimes.
When Now You See Me: Now You Don’t comes to home video, the first place you will be able to see it is on digital streaming via premium video on demand. Generally, Lionsgate — the studio distributing Now You See Me: Now You Don’t — has about a three-week to one-month window between the time its films open in theaters and arrive on PVOD.
For example, the studio’s crime thriller From the World of John Wick: Ballerina opened in theaters on June 6 and arrived on PVOD about three and a half weeks later, on July 1. More recently, Lionsgate’s fantasy comedy Good Fortune opened in theaters on Oct. 7 and arrived on digital streaming three weeks later, on Nov. 7.
There are some exceptions, however. Lionsgate’s dystopian thriller The Long Walk opened in theaters on Sept. 12 but didn’t arrive on PVOD until about five weeks later, on Oct. 21.
If Now You See Me: Now You Don’t follows the same PVOD release pattern, viewers can expect the film to be available on digital streaming sometime between Dec. 5 and Dec. 19 since new Lionsgate movies typically arrive on PVOD on Tuesdays or Fridays.
When Now You See Me: Now You Don’t debuts on PVOD, it will be available on such digital platforms as Apple TV, Fandango at Home, Prime Video and YouTube. New PVOD releases generally cost $19.99 to $29.99 to purchase or $14.99 to $24.99 to rent for a 48-hour period.
What Streaming Service Will Get ‘Now You See Me: Now You Don’t’ First?
Lionsgate has a Pay 1 window deal with STARZ’s digital platform, which means Now You See Me: Now You Don’t will make its premiere on the subscription service on streaming video on demand.
Typically, Lionsgate releases three and a half to four months after they open in theaters to arrive on SVOD on STARZ. For example, the air thriller Flight Risk opened in theaters on Jan. 24 and debuted on STARZ four months later, on May 24.
More recently, From the World of John Wick: Ballerina, which opened in theaters on June 6, debuted on STARZ about three and a half months later, on Sept. 25.
Should Now You See Me: Now You Don’t follow the same SVOD release pattern, viewers can expect it to debut on SVOD anytime between Feb. 27 and March 13.
Rated PG-13, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t is now playing in theaters nationwide.
