New ‘Frankenstein’ Poster Gives Best Look Yet At Creature’s Face

A new character poster from Guillermo del Toro’s “Frankenstein” gives viewers the most detailed look yet at Jacob Elordi’s character, simply known as “The Creature.”

Frankenstein, which is The Shape of Water and Pinocchio filmmaker’s lifelong passion project, debuts on streaming on Netflix on Nov. 7 after a limited theatrical release that begins on Friday. The logline for Frankenstein reads, “Oscar-winning director Guillermo del Toro adapts Mary Shelley’s classic tale of Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant but egotistical scientist who brings a creature to life in a monstrous experiment that ultimately leads to the undoing of both the creator and his tragic creation.”

Little by little, del Toro has been revealing the look of The Creature through the film’s two trailers, production stills and the official poster for the production, which was released the same day as the film’s official trailer on Oct. 1.

On Monday, Netflix posted five new character posters for the principal characters in Frankenstein. The poster of Elordi’s Creature is easily the most revealing image of the character to date, since his look has been partially obscured in the press materials released during the film’s production phases.

While the official poster of Jacob Elordi’s Creature in Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein features more of the character’s head, the image was muddied, making details like his scars and eyes difficult to see. In the new character poster, three major scars are prominent on the creature’s forehead, as is another on his nose and his eyes are clear.

Oscar Isaac stars as Victor Frankenstein in Frankenstein. The first trailer told the story from Victor’s point of view, while the second tells the story from The Creature’s point of view.

Mia Goth stars as Victor Frankenstein’s fiancée, Elizabeth Lavenza, in Frankenstein. Elizabeth has a surprise encounter with the creature in the film’s official trailer.

Felix Kammerer stars as Victor Frankenstein’s younger brother, William, in Frankenstein.

Christopher Waltz plays Heinrich Harlander, who funds Victor Frankenstein’s experiments, in Frankenstein.

Frankenstein cast members Christoph Waltz, Oscar Isaac, Mia Goth, Jacob Elordi, Felix Kammerer and Christian Convery joined director Guillermo del Toro for a photo at the red carpet premiere of Frankenstein at the Academy Museum in Los Angeles on Oct. 6.

Rated R, Frankenstein opens in limited release in theaters on Friday before its streaming premiere on Netflix on Nov. 7.
