Nancy Pelosi’s only 3 profitable stock picks of 2025

With the second half of 2025 underway, several stock picks by former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi have posted mixed results, with the majority in the red.

Of the trades she made and filed in January 2025, only three have yielded profits. Notably, many of Pelosi’s positions were influenced by broader market volatility, largely tied to uncertainty around trade tariffs.

Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA)

Among the profitable trades is her purchase of call options in Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA). Executed on January 14 and filed three days later, the transaction was valued between $250,001 and $500,000 and has already delivered a 13.49% return.

The semiconductor giant began the year on a sluggish note as investors grew concerned about the rise of DeepSeek AI, which utilized cheaper AI resources than Western counterparts, such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT.

However, Nvidia stock has since gained momentum, driven by easing U.S.-China tariff tensions and the company’s continued dominance in the AI semiconductor space.

Historically, Nvidia has been a top performer in Pelosi’s portfolio, generating significant returns. As of press time, NVDA shares were trading at $159, up more than 18% year-to-date.

Tempus AI (NASDAQ: TEM)

Her most successful 2025 investment so far has been in Tempus AI (NASDAQ: TEM). Pelosi bought call options in the health technology company on January 14, valued between $50,001 and $100,000.

The position has soared, delivering a 75% return, partly fueled by growing investor excitement around AI-powered healthcare platforms.

At press time, Tempus was trading at $56, representing a year-to-date increase of more than 72%.

Vistra (NYSE: VST)

Another profitable move was her call option purchase in energy giant Vistra (NYSE: VST). Filed on January 17, the trade, valued at $500,001 to $1,000,000, has returned 7% since execution. As of this writing, VST shares were trading at $185, reflecting a more than 25% gain in 2025.

Vistra’s recent rally has been driven by rising demand for clean energy, fueled by the rapid expansion of AI data centers and the electrification of oil field operations in the Permian Basin.

The company’s diverse energy mix, including solar, nuclear, natural gas, and other low- and zero-emission sources, has been key to its strong performance.
