Multiple people were shot at a train station in Brooklyn on Tuesday morning and police found “undetonated devices” at the scene, the New York City Fire Department said.

Reports of smoke at a train station in the Sunset Park section of Brooklyn came in at around 8:30 a.m., and first responders found multiple people shot and undetonated devices, the FDNY said.

16 people were injured, including 10 people shot and 5 in stable but critical condition, according to acting FDNY Commissioner Laura Kavanagh.

Police are investigating a possible explosion, CBS New York reported, and the Associated Press says preliminary information indicated a suspect was wearing an orange construction vest and a gas mask when he fled the scene.

Police believe the suspect acted alone and are investigating the motive, WNBC reported.

The NYPD tweeted at around 9:50 a.m. ET that “there are NO active explosive devices at this time” linked to the Brooklyn train station shooting, and told the public to stay away from 36th Street and 4th Avenue in Brooklyn due to an investigation.
