AEW Dynamite Winners and Highlights | November 30, 2022
Jon Moxley Brawls with Hangman Adam Page
Jon Moxley talked himself up during this promo, saying how he is the best in AEW. It really sounded like he was trying to convince himself.
Hangman Adam Page interrupted Jon Moxley, and Mox wasted no time in mocking Page for his head injury. “Are you sure you want to do this after what happened last time?” asked Moxley. “Do you even remember last time?”
Moxley took a nasty spill on the stage toward the end of his brawl with Hangman Adam Page.
Moxley and Page were later seen brawling backstage as the brawl lasted no less than 25 kayfabe minutes.
Bryan Danielson def. Dax Harwood
This match received “this is awesome” chants from this small hardcore crowd before it even started.
This match had every hardcore crowd-baiting spot imaginable, and these fans ate it up.
After the loss, and a very good match, Dax Harwood faked like he was not going to shake Danielson’s hand, but he was just ribbing because he brought Bryan in for an enthusiastic hug.
There was a backstage segment between the JAS and what’s left of the Blackpool Combat Club. Claudio Castagnoli keeps talking about all this “best wrestler” nonsense, but Jake Hager literally turned his AEW career around by throwing on a purple hat. He’s never been more over in AEW.
Samoa Joe def. A.R. Fox
Despite being a relative unknown to AEW fans, A.R. Fox had no problem getting over in this match from jump.
People are into Wardlow, but they just don’t seem to be into the “Wardlow’s World” catchphrase.
During a breakdown of Hook’s Redrum finisher, there was a “don’t try this at home” disclaimer in the lower third.
MJF Reveals New AEW World Title | Big Burberry Belt
William Regal introduced MJF to quell the rumors that he jetted off to WWE (for now). For storyline continuity, the announcers noted Jon Moxley was removed from the premise due to brawling with Hangman Adam Page.
There was a platform in the ring that was covered with a sheet. Taz asked “what the hell is in the ring here?” as if he didn’t know it was another new belt design in AEW.
The new AEW World Championship is the same belt design, but with a Burberry leather pattern. MJF dubbed it the Big Burberry Belt.
MJF set up his next three months of feuds by calling out Eddie Kingston, Ricky Starks and Bryan Danielson.
This week’s WWE references included JBL, Bruno Sammartino, Nick Khan and Triple H.
Like a true heel, MJF vowed to defend his world title very rarely and wrestle very rarely.
MJF capped off another fantastic promo by knocking out Regal with a pair of brass knuckles. This brought out Bryan Danielson, and more importantly, another deluge of rumors that this might be his sendoff to WWE.
Ricky Starks def. Ari Daivari
Fans were far more into Matt Hardy than Ethan Page, who cut a promo before this match. Fans even cheered Hardy on his way out instead of paying attention to Page.
Similar to how Claudio Castagnoli may have to join the JAS against his will, AEW is doing that same storyline with Matt Hardy and The Firm.
Next week will feature a Dynamite Diamond Battle Royal for MJF’s Dynamite Diamond Ring. Despite being the No. 1 Contender, Ricky Starks will be competing in this match.
Ricky Starks vs. Ari Daivari was shorter than Page’s promo.
Willow Nightingale def. Anna J.A.S.
Willow Nightingale was insanely over in this match. People are champing at the bit to love her.
Not only did Willow Nightingale pick up the victory, but Ruby Soho made her triumphant return as the AEW women’s division continues to come up.
Bow Wow Calls out Jade Cargill
Jade Cargill lashed out at The Baddies, and even cut an “airport test” promo by saying she’s the only AEW wrestler who the regular consumer would recognize as a star. She’s absolutely right.
Bow Wow appeared from an undisclosed location in what looked like he was being detained in an interrogation room. Nobody reacted to this promo, which had music in the background.
The Elite def. Death Triangle
The Elite received another mixed reaction in Indianapolis, though it skewed Elite.
The hammer is the fourth member of Death Triangle. This week, Rey Fenix stopped Penta El Zero M from using the weapon, which prompted Penta to push his own brother. That hammer is cursed.
Excalibur felt compelled to remind the audience that the overall winner would received the Trios Championships, which told me The Elite was going to win and he was preemptively avoiding any confusion.
The Elite won with Death Triangle fighting fair, and this will continue to play into this series storyline and ultimately Death Triangle’s demise.
