Miley Cyrus Nearly Reaches No. 1 With Her New Single

Later this month, Miley Cyrus will release her new album, Something Beautiful. The pop superstar’s ninth full-length is expected on May 30, and she’s currently in major promotional mode.

A little over a month ago, Cyrus dropped “End of the World,” the lead single from the set. The tune arrived with much fanfare, but it hasn’t turned out to be the smash that she and her team were surely hoping for. As the Something Beautiful release date approaches, the superstar has delivered another focus track from the project — and it’s become a quick bestseller right out of the gate.

Miley Cyrus Drops “More to Lose”

Cyrus released “More to Lose” on Friday (May 9). It’s one of the most exciting new songs of this tracking frame – but so far, as of the time of writing, it’s not the top-selling just-shared title.

A quick look at the iTunes top songs ranking in the U.S. shows that Cyrus’s fans are out in full force to support the cut. “More to Lose” lands at No. 2, making it the second bestselling track on the platform. It comes in behind only “Superman” by Morgan Wallen, which flew straight to No. 1.

“More to Lose” Follows “End of the World”

“More to Lose” comes at the perfect time, as “End of the World” may be nearing the end of its chart life, at least in some respects. The track drops on the Hot 100 from No. 88 to No. 93 this frame. If it continues its downward trajectory, it will vanish from the list of the most consumed songs in the U.S. in just a few days, if not a week or two.

The track is still performing fairly well on Billboard’s pop radio tallies, but it has yet to crack the top 10 on any of them. It’s only been a month, so there’s still time — but it seems to have peaked at No. 21 on the Pop Airplay chart, and it’s actually reversing course on the Adult Contemporary roster, dipping one spot to No. 12.

Miley Cyrus Has Shared Several New Songs

In just the past few weeks, Cyrus has given her fan base a lot to listen to. Only “End of the World” and “More to Lose” have been granted single status, but two other tunes from Something Beautiful, “Prelude” and the title track, both arrived to hype up her following. Neither became a sizable win on the charts, but that’s no surprise, as they weren’t marketed for that purpose.
