Miley Cyrus appears to be hinting at the possibility of new music, and it seems she’s already shared the title of what might be her next single.
In a surprise move, posters featuring Cyrus appeared in France in mid-August, which immediately ignited speculation about the potential release of new tracks from the singer of “Flowers.” These posters included a fresh black-and-white image of the singer, along with lyrics from her well-known songs like “Party in the USA,” “Wrecking Ball” and “The Climb.”
What caught everyone’s attention was the inclusion of a previously unheard lyric: “I say I used to be young.” The logic leads to the assumption that Cyrus is gearing up to drop a new single titled “Used To Be Young” in the near future.
The posters aren’t the only clue that new music is coming soon from the pop star. In an interview with British Vogue in May 2023, she playfully hinted at a song called “Used To Be Young,” which she said she would be releasing “soon.”
On August 7, Cyrus announced the tenth anniversary edition of her album Bangerz. A description on her merch store hinted at something special that’s on the way: “Take a trip down memory lane to when Miley Used To Be Young,” the capitalized words hinting at the forthcoming single.
The convergence of the posters, the interview revelations, and the website copy hint she dropped, all the clues are adding up. It seems pretty clear that something called “Used To Be Young” is on the way, but what exactly it is and how it fits into her discography is yet to be seen.
