Micron Technology
plans to invest billions of dollars to build a huge new chip manufacturing plant. The company says the so-called megafab will be the largest semiconductor factory ever built in the U.S.
The announcement follows several other high-profile commitments from chip manufacturers to expand domestic production in the face of concerns that the U.S. has become too reliant on chips produced in Asia, particularly in Taiwan.

), for instance, announced plans for large new factories in both Arizona and Ohio.
