Leading UK hospitality provider Keith Prowse is teaming up with Chef Patron of two Michelin-starred Restaurant Story, Tom Sellers, to launch an exciting new experience at Wimbledon 2022.
The Treehouse, which will be perched above The Lawn at the world’s oldest tennis tournament, hopes to act as a retreat for foodies and tennis lovers alike, offering all-day dining curated by Sellers himself.
“This is a truly collaborative effort with both teams sharing a joint vision and continuously working to the same high standard,” says Sellers. “The menu is in progress and we’re proud to be hero-ing and championing UK suppliers, supporting UK fisheries and telling a story through the food.
“We want only the freshest, most sustainable, local products. We really look forward to the summer of 2022 and welcoming guests to this new space at Wimbledon.”
The venue itself has been designed to offer a relaxed, open space with flexibility in mind. Its cantilever balconies will overlook the luxurious garden space, with a range of relaxed spaces (including banquettes, small tabless, sit-up bars, and lounges) to suit all guests’ needs.
In keeping with the venue’s more informal style, the culinary offering will be centred around small ‘roaming’ plates that can be easily circulated and enjoyed standing.
While the final menu remains a work in progress, we’ve been told dishes are likely to include a rabbit sandwich canape (pressed rabbit leg, coated in polenta and fried crispy with bergamot picked carrots and tarragon emulsion), a celebration of seafood (with a scallop, elderflower and cucumber served in individual bowls marked to become a signature dish), and a stream of vegan and vegetarian options.
Two live cooking stations within specially-designed birdcages will also be employed to encourage guests to experience a range of exclusive creations from start to finish.
Of course Wimbledon wouldn’t be complete without an afternoon tea, so The Treehouse will be offering an ‘informal’ take complete with egg and truffle burnt toast sandwiches and Tonka bean canelés.
And if complimentary chilled champagne wasn’t enough, arange of bespoke cocktails crafted by mixologists will be served alongside plates to complement and draw out the flavours of the food.
Alongside exclusive entry to The Treehouse, guests will have full access to The Lawn’s grounds including the garden where guests can dip their toes in a cooling foot stream and relax in the Whisky and Cigar Bar.
Though official packages are already flying off their virtual shelves, those remaining include a range of options for No.1 Court and Centre Court tickets.
The Wimbledon Championships will start Monday, June 27th and end on Sunday, July 10th with the final.
