McDonald’s Adds Big Mac Sauce Dip Cups To The Menu

One of McDonald’s most beloved condiments is being repackaged.

Previously only available on a Big Mac, McDonald’s signature Big Mac sauce (also called Mac sauce, special sauce, and secret sauce) will be available as a side. Per relentless customer demand, Big Mac sauce will be available as a dip cup starting on April 27.

The offering is only for a limited time and at participating restaurants across the U.S.

And the only way to get the Mac sauce dip cups: by ordering on the McDonald’s App. And because we all love a good throwback, the dipping cups feature retro blue and silver packaging inspired by the OG Big Mac sandwich wraps.

The Big Mac has been iconic to McDonald’s menu since it first debuted nationally in 1968, after an Owner-Operator in Pittsburgh came up with the idea for a double burger sandwich.

The fandom for the Big Mac has only grown with time, expanding to menus across the globe, and creating social media craze (not to mention eBay competition) when 10,000 bottles of Big Mac sauce were given away as a promo in the U.S. in 2017.

The creamy, tangy, slightly sweet and dippable sauce will be available at no extra charge with any purchase of Chicken McNuggets. It can also be ordered a la carte to pair with other McDonald’s menu items. Because if you know, you know, you want it on everything: fries, hash browns, an Egg McMuffin. The limit does not exist with Big Mac sauce. Except for now long it will be available in dip cups…
