Lewis Capaldi’s “Survive” debuts at No. 1 on four U.K. charts, including the Official Singles and … More
After taking a hiatus from his music career to focus on his mental health, Lewis Capaldi has returned with his new single, “Survive.” The aptly-titled track shows that the singer-songwriter isn’t just surviving, actually, but thriving — and that his fanbase remains dedicated to supporting him no matter how much time he needs away.
“Survive” Launches at No. 1
“Survive” arrives on the charts in the United Kingdom and earns a glorious debut. The track launches at No. 1 on four of the five lists it reaches this frame. Capaldi has already scored multiple champions on each and every one of those rankings, and he adds to his count yet again.
The arrival of “Survive” highlights the huge demand for new music from the Grammy-nominated superstar. The tune opens at No. 1 on the Official Singles chart, as well as the Official Singles Sales, Official Singles Downloads, and Official Physical Singles tallies, which are all focused on pure purchases.
At the same time, “Survive” kicks off its run on the Official Streaming list at No. 5, standing out as the fifth most-played composition on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and others.
Lewis Capaldi Claims His Sixth No. 1 Hit
Capaldi earns his sixth career leader on the list of the biggest songs in the U.K. He previously conquered the competitive tally with “Someone You Loved,” “Before You Go,” “Forget Me,” “Pointless,” and “Wish You the Best.”
Almost half of all of Capaldi’s charting tracks on the main ranking have reached No. 1, as he’s only sent 13 tunes to the roster, which blends both pure sales and streaming activity to reflect what the British public is listening to.
He has also earned six No. 1s on the Official Physical Singles chart, and he’s now up to seven chart-toppers on both the Official Singles Sales and Official Singles Downloads rankings.
Over on the Official Streaming chart, Capaldi has only ever reached No. 1 with “Someone You Loved,” which could be considered his breakout smash. Including “Survive,” he’s reached the top 10 with seven releases, many of which rank as his biggest hits, though most of them couldn’t quite soar to the summit.
A New Album May Be on the Horizon
At the moment, “Survive” is a standalone single, but it likely precedes a new album Capaldi is working on. He’s only released two full-lengths throughout his career: his debut, Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent, in 2019, and his sophomore effort, Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent, four years later.
A little over two years since his last release, fans are eager to hear more from him — as is evidenced by the warm welcome “Survive” has earned.
