KuCoin, a leading cryptocurrency exchange, has published a Web3 Career Market report. The report has applied the grouping methodology and delves into the professional aspect of the booming decentralized sector. It is curated from the responses gathered from 3,608 individuals across LinkedIn and Twitter knowing the Web-3 world.
One of the interesting findings of the report is the discovery that women are more active in terms of careers than males in Web3 space. 49% of females have either worked part-time or as freelancers or full-time. 33% of females have worked as engineers or developers in the industry. But when it comes to starting a Web-3 related project, women are fewer in number than men. Meanwhile, female Web3 enthusiasts are less likely to make a crypto investment in comparison to their male counterparts.
In addition, the report suggests that women face challenges in male-dominated Web3 workplaces. 33% of women identified “bro” culture as one of the hindrances. Another barrier is the lack of proper educational resources. What’s more interesting is that despite these challenges, 60% of female professionals have bought their unique energy in Web3 spaces and created a better workspace.
Moreover, the report has categorized 16% of the surveyed individuals in the Web3 professionals possessing experience in various fields including NFT, DAO, DeFi, cryptocurrency, metaverse, and DApp. 24% of the participants have worked as full-time employees. However, freelancers, entrepreneurs, and part-timers were in majority.
In another interesting finding, 53% of web3 enthusiasts have immense interest in the booming technology but have no experience working in the industry. Nonetheless, the majority of those surveyed believe in the bright future of Web3 space. They are confident that the scope of Web3 goes beyond just crypto adoption and paves a way for a decentralized and better world. If you wish to read the full report please visit KuCoin Blog.
