Korean Soloists Own 10% Of Billboard’s Sales Chart This Week

For the third turn in a row, Jimin from South Korean boy band BTS dominates Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart, a weekly ranking of the bestselling tunes in the U.S. However, Jimin is not the only soloist from his home country on the tally this time around. In a rare showing of rising popularity among a certain group of artists, 10% of all the spaces on the purchase-only list are occupied by solo musicians from South Korea.

Jimin holds atop the Digital Song Sales chart for a third consecutive week, extending his successful run. His single “Like Crazy” nabs a second turn atop the tally after debuting in first place last time around. It sold more than 241,000 copies–the largest sales sum of 2023.

This week, “Like Crazy” sold far fewer copies–just under 14,800, according to Luminate, the company that collects data and feeds it to Billboard. That smaller sum is still enough to make it the bestselling title of the week in the U.S.

Jimin’s other song, “Set Me Free Pt. 2,” slips down to No. 35 in its third week on the Digital Song Sales chart. It debuted at No. 1 last month, then was replaced by “Like Crazy.” This past tracking frame, “Set Me Free Pt. 2” sold exactly 1,800 copies.

Blackpink singer Jisoo earns a pair of debuts on this week’s Digital Song Sales chart as tracks from her first solo collection Me arrive. First up among the two is “Flower,” which arrives at No. 10, selling a little more than 5,700 copies in its initial frame of availability. Her other cut, “All Eyes on Me,” managed nearly 3,100 copies, enough to help the title debut at No. 19.

Back on the Digital Song Sales chart for another week is “On The Street,” a collaboration between J-Hope and rapper J. Cole. That track debuted at No. 2 earlier this year, and fans are still purchasing the cut. It returns to the tally this frame at No. 31, with more than 2,100 copies sold.
