Alycia Baumgardner Vs. Jennifer Miranda

Alycia Baumgardner (15-1-1 with seven KOs) turned pro in 2017. Twelve fights into her professional career, she became the WBC and IBO super featherweight champion when she knocked out Terri Harper in the fourth round. Baumgardner added the WBO, IBF and The Ring titles to her trophy shelf in 2022 when she scored a split decision win over Mikaela Mayer. She has defended her titles twice, beating Elhem Mekhaled and Christina Linardatou by decision in 2023. In 2024, Baumgardner and Delfine Persoon fought to a no contest. That bout ended after a head clash in the fourth round opened a cut over Persoon’s right eye.

Jennifer Miranda (12-0-0 with one KO) made her pro debut in 2018. Miranda won the WBA interim super featherweight championship in October with a decision over Teresa Almengor. She has not fought outside of Spain during her career.

ESPN has Baumgardner ranked as the No. 1 130-pound fighter, while Miranda is ranked at No. 5.

Savannah Marshall Vs. Shadasia Green

Savannah Marshall (13-1-0 with 10 KOs) and Shadasia Green (15-1-0 with 11 KOs) have combined for 21 career knockout wins.

Marshall is a former undisputed super middleweight champion. Her only career loss came in October 2022 when Claressa Shields beat her by unanimous decision. Marshall bounced back from that setback with a July 2023 decision win over Franchón Crews-Dezurn. She has not fought since that victory.

Like Marshall, Green only has one career defeat, dropping a decision to Crews-Dezurn in December 2023. She is 2-0 since that loss and coming off a split decision win over Melinda Watpool in November 2024 for the vacant WBO super-middleweight title.

Marshall was removed from ESPN’s latest rankings because of inactivity. Green is the No. 2 168-pound competitor.

Ellie Scotney Vs. Yamileth Mercado

Ellie Scotney is a perfect 10-0 (zero knockouts) heading into Friday’s fight card. The 27-year-old made her pro debut in 2020. Scotney won her first title in 2023 when she scored a unanimous decision win over Cherneka Johnson. In April 2024, Scotney added the WBO title to her trophy case with a decision victory over Ségolène Lefebvre. In her most recent outing, Scotney defended her titles with a decision over Mea Motu. That bout took place in January of this year.

Yamileth Mercado (24-3-0 with five knockouts) is riding a six-fight winning streak heading into the Taylor vs. Serrano 3 fight card. The 27-year-old has been competing in title fights since 2018 when she lost a split decision to Fatuma Zarika for the WBC super bantamweight belt.

In 2019, Mercado avenged that loss to Zarika, beating her by decision and taking her title. Mercado defended that crown twice before losing to Amanda Serrano in August 2021 in pursuit of Serrano’s WBC, WBO, and IBO featherweight titles.

Following the loss to Serrano, Mercado went back to competing at super bantamweight. She has defended her title four times since the Serrano fight, most recently beating Ramla Ali in June 2024.

ESPN has Scotney ranked at No. 1 in the 122-pound division, while Mercado is No. 2.

Cherneka Johnson Vs. Shurretta Metcalf

Cherneka Johnson (17-2-0 with six knockouts) won the IBF super bantamweight title in April 2022 with a majority decision triumph over Melissa Esquivel. In October of the sam year, Johnson defended that crown, beating Susie Ramadan via unanimous decision.

In June 2023, Ellie Scotney took the belt from Johnson. Johnson bounced back from that setback with a May 2024 majority decision win over Nina Hughes to win the WBA bantamweight belt. She defended that title in March of this year, scoring a knockout over Hughes in their rematch.

Shurretta Metcalf (14-4-1-1 with two knockouts) has been a pro since 2016. She did not win her first title until November 2023, when she bested Miyo Yoshida to claim the vacant IBF inter-continental title. In her October 2024 rematch opposite Yoshida, Metcalf won the IBF bantamweight belt.

Johnson is the No. 2 fighter at 118 pounds according to ESPN, while Metcalf is No. 3.

Chantelle Cameron Vs. Jessica Camara

A former undisputed light-welterweight champion, Chantelle Cameron (20-1-0 with eight knockouts) has been a pro since 2017. Cameron won her first title in 2017, when she became the IBF lightweight champ.

Cameron began collecting light welterweight belts in 2020. She became the undisputed champ in the weight class in 2022 with a decision win over Jessica McCaskill. Cameron’s run as the undisputed champ ended in November 2023 when Katie Taylor beat her by majority decision.

Since her loss to Taylor, Cameron is 2-0, winning and defending the WBC interim junior welterweight title.

Jessica Camara (14-4-1 with three knockouts) has been a pro since 2017. In 2021, Camara lost to Kali Reis via split decision in pursuit of becoming the WBA, IBO and WBO light welterweight champ. She is coming off a technical draw to Caroline Dubois in January. That fight ended at the start of the third round when doctors stopped the bout after Camara suffered a cut from an accidental clash of heads. Dubois’s WBC and IBO lightweight belts were up for grabs that night.

Cameron is ranked behind Taylor and Serrano at 140 pounds, while Camara is unranked.

Katie Taylor Vs. Amanda Serrano 3

“We’re going to go out there and we’re going to put it all on the line this fight so you’re going to see who the true champion is July 11,” Serrano said at the pre-fight press conference.

“(Taylor) has to prove to everybody and to herself that she beat me convincingly, both those fights, and I need to go out there and prove to those judges, like, ‘Come on, what are you watching?'”

“If you look at the fights you can clearly see that I won those fights,” said Taylor. “It’s really, really insane that she thinks she won those fights.”

The fight, which headlines an all-women’s card is currently scheduled to be contested over 10 two minute rounds, something that Serrano was not happy with.

“First of all, we shook on it,” Serrano said of the fight being three minute rounds. “She didn’t agree when we went to sign the contract.”

“I think as a matter of principle that the challenger shouldn’t be dictating the terms of the fight,” Taylor said in reply. “I am 2-0 here and I’m in the driver’s seat here and that’s only right. At the end of the day Amanda needs this fight a lot more than I do. I have a long history of big fights against big names and a line of people queuing up to fight me for the payday.”

Katie Taylor On Amanda Serrano 3 Fight

“Our styles will always make it an exciting fight. Our first two fights were Fight of the Year contenders, and I am hoping this fight is as exciting,” Taylor told Fox News. “Just for my own sake, I am hoping I can beat her a bit more easily. But just to showcase female fight night at its best, it’s huge for the sport. It is going to be an amazing moment for women’s sports on that night.”

“I definitely don’t need to do this — she definitely needs this fight a lot more than I do,” Taylor added.

“I just want to be involved in the biggest fights possible. I realized after the second fight this still was the biggest fight in women’s boxing,” Taylor continued. “And to fight live on Netflix and have a chance to headline it again, this is going to be another historic night. So it is huge, and I feel like fights are getting bigger and bigger at this stage.

“I didn’t think it was possible after the first fight, but then here we are a couple of years later. The last few fights have been bigger and bigger, and I feel like this one on July 11 is even bigger than last time.”
