BTS star Jimin is currently enjoying the biggest week of his solo career yet, as his debut solo project Face opens at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart, while the set’s single “Like Crazy” arrives at No. 1 on the Hot 100.
With these arrivals, Jimin makes history in several ways, and he manages to tie one of his bandmates with a new win on the competitive songs tally.
“Like Crazy” is Jimin’s third song as a soloist to reach the Hot 100, and with a trio of placements on the highly important list, he now stands side-by-side with Suga, as both BTS members have reached the ranking on three occasions.
With his new Hot 100 smash, Jimin is now tied with Suga for the third-most appearances on the chart among South Korean solo musicians. In first place on this specific list is Psy, who has racked up five charting singles throughout the past decade or so. Right in between Psy and both Suga and Jimin is another BTS musician, J-Hope, who has thus far pushed four songs under his solo moniker to the Hot 100.
When looking at all South Korean musical acts who have placed on the Hot 100, the numbers change, as does the ranking of artists. On that list, Suga and Jimin are tied for the fifth-most placements on the chart among their countrymen with their three successful launches.
Leading the way by a mile is BTS. The septet, which helped propel names like Suga, Jimin, and others to superstardom, has placed 26 tracks onto the Hot 100. Blackpink claims the second-most Hot 100 hits among South Korean musical artists, with nine. Psy ranks third, with his five charting songs, while BTS’s own J-Hope is one win behind, with four.
