Jimin Replaces His BTS Bandmate Suga Atop Billboard’s World Songs Chart

It’s not uncommon for the top spot on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart to trade hands from one week to the next. However, it’s not often that the throne is passed from one member of a band to another.

This week, two stars from BTS trade places, with one champion returning for another turn in the spotlight. Jimin’s “Like Crazy” rises to No. 1 once again on the latest edition of the World Digital Song Sales chart, improving by just one spot, as it sat in the runner-up rung last frame.

Last week, the World Digital Song Sales chart was owned by Agust D and IU. The former of those two is also known as Suga, as he uses a different name when he releases music aside from BTS. The singer, songwriter, and producer owned the ranking last frame with his single “People Pt. 2”, a collaboration with fellow South Korean star IU. This time around, it dips from No. 1 to No. 4.

“Like Crazy” continues its winning streak as one of the bestselling songs in the U.S., and not just when it comes to what Billboard defines as “world”. This frame, Jimin’s single slides slightly on the all-genre, all-language Digital Song Sales chart to No. 7. Meanwhile, “People Pt. 2,” which ruled last frame, is not present on that list.

Jimin’s breakout solo smash debuted with the largest sales sum of 2023 just a few weeks ago. The tune, which helped power his solo EP Face to No. 2 on the Billboard 200, arrived with 241,000 copies sold, and it sat at No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart for two frames. This week, “Like Crazy” sold another 5,500 copies, according to Luminate. That’s easily enough to help it return to No. 1 on the World Digital Song Sales chart. The current runner-up, Rema and Selena Gomez’s “Calm Down,” sold just under 4,900 copies.
