Japan, a country rich in technology is to inaugurate the world’s first-ever ‘Metaverse High School’ in collaboration with Yushi International High School. A fully virtual high school where students can attend classes remotely using VR equipment and 3D anime avatars. AOMINEXT, a Japanese VR and metaverse developer, announced the plan on January 09, 2024.
Interestingly, the fully virtual high school will work in a similar pattern to the other existing schools. Students will graduate with regular high school diplomas, offering three-year, credit-based courses with a curriculum acknowledged by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Additionally, not only Japanese students but students from other regions can also be admitted to Metaverse High School.

Whether it’s about creating a virtual high school or integrating AI and blockchain technology in Anime production, Japan is continuously working to redefine technologies in every field. The plan of opening a Metaverse high school, surprised the world, especially the youngsters and Metaverse enthusiasts.
Going into details, the motive is to offer the students a chance to devote themself to school without worrying about looks, gender, and insecurities. Students are allowed to appear in the classroom using a 3D avatar which can be personalized as per needs. To maintain the interest of students, the school will also educate students on Metaverse creation, VR, and programming learning.
As of now, the Metaverse school is looking for potential admissions, and also accepting mid-year transfers. Attending classes from home, studying on campus in the Metaverse, and a wide variety of school events are some min center of attractions.

The motive is to secure the environment for creators, enhance creators’ revenues, and address labor shortage issues in the content industry.
