Is this the best gaming stock to buy in 2026?

While technology giants appear to be abandoning gamers with Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) and Micron’s (NASDAQ: MU) pivot to an AI-first hardware approach, gaming remains a lucrative trade and, as it turned out in 2025, a great investment.

Going into 2026, it appears that Games Workshop (LON: GAW) – a famous British hobby and gaming company – might be a standout investment, both thanks to Games Workshop stock’s performance and its potential.

Specifically, GAW shares have rallied 37.94% in the last 12 months from £133 (~$189) to £183 (~$246), and their biggest spike came in November thanks to a stellar trading update.

Specifically, Games Workshop announced a 15.07% increase in year-over-year (YoY) revenue from £269.4 ($362) million to £310 ($417) million.

In December 2025, the company also reported dividends at £3.75 ($5.04) per share for 2025/2026 – significantly higher than the £2.65 ($3.56) announced one year prior.

Looking forward to 2026 and 2027, GAW stock appears to continue growing in value.

Why GAW stock will keep rallying in 2026 and 2027

The company’s flagship Warhammer 40,000 series of products is reaching unprecedented popularity due to a combination of new tabletop game editions and a series of highly successful video games.

In late 2025, Creative Assembly, the British video game company best-known for the Total War franchise confirmed what fans have long suspected: that its next major installment will be set in the Warhammer 40K universe.

The game’s eventual release and the marketing campaign in its leadup is likely to expand Games Workshop’s fanbase as more people are introduced to the setting and the different products associated with it, thus likely further driving revenue growth.

Similarly, GAW’s latest major licensing spike, which arrived in 2024 and amounted to some £14 ($18.82) million, coincided with the release of a third-person shooter called Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2.

It is likely that the upcoming Total War game will prove just as momentous for Games Workshop licensing revenue, albeit only in 2026 or 2027 – the expected release window.
