A marvelous exhibition will be released at the Center Pompidou, a well-known museum for the visual arts of the 20th century in Paris, to showcase the interaction between blockchain and artistic creation and to bring the Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) to the center of the Persian art scene.
As per Feb 10 announcement, the exhibition will feature popular digital collectibles from CryptoPunk, and Autoglyph projects, including 13 worldwide famous digital artists’ works. This event planned for this spring will mark NFT’s first display at Center Pompidou, internationally renowned for its 20th and 21st-century art collections.
CryptoPunks worth millions of dollars are considered a piece of artwork and a new form of asset tokenization that is highly popular on the NFT marketplace. It is minted on the Ethereum blockchain. In Feb 2022 CryptoPunk 5822 created a high sales record with $24 million (at the time).
On the other hand, Autoglyph, a unique “on-chain” generative art project on the Ethereum blockchain, has 512 NFTs. They are self-contained mechanisms for the ownership and creation of an artwork. On Feb 11, Larva Labs tweeted for acquiring Autoglyph #25 and CryptoPunk #110 at Center Pompidou’s permanent collection.
NFT creator Yuga Labs co-founder Greg Solano commented, “Seeing CryptoPunk #110 displayed in the Centre Pompidou, arguably the world’s most prestigious contemporary art museum, is a great moment for the web3 and NFT ecosystem, and we are honored to help drive this cultural conversation.”
In today’s contemporary world, NFT plays a vital role in supporting artists and creators. At the start of 2023, there was a continuous growth of interest in users for NFTs and crypto assets. In 2021, NFT generated more than $25 billion through sales of art, music, and video games in the Metaverse. OpenSea remained the largest NFT marketplace by trading volume in Jan 2023 ($495 million).
