Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle
Demon Slayer is gearing up for what likely going to be its biggest release yet: a full-on movie in the form of Infinity Castle. Not a bunch of episodes strung together, an actual movie, the start of a trilogy, and the film is attempting to replicate the huge global success of the Mugen Train movie in 2020, which grossed $485 million. And yes, that was in the height of COVID.
Now, promotion is starting to spool up for Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle, and here are the release dates for the film in different countries, some earlier, way earlier, some later. Here they are in order:
- Japan – Friday, July 18
- UK – Tuesday, August 12
- Indonesia – Friday, August 15
- Philippines – Wednesday, August 20
- Brazil – Thursday, September 11
- Mexico – Thursday, September 11
- UAE – Thursday, September 11
- India – Friday, September 12
- South Africa – Friday, September 12
- Canada – Friday, September 12
- USA – Friday, September 12
I’m not entirely sure about the split here. It’s pretty standard for Japan to get a way earlier release date, but I’m not sure why the UK, Indonesia and the Philippines are quite so lucky. So, we here in the US will have to wait until September 12, two and a half months from now, thereabouts.
On top of this, here’s the new nearly two-minute trailer for the Infinity Castle movie, which has racked up 6.3 million views in 24 hours with a massive 367K to 1K like-to-dislike ratio on YouTube. It’s a sick trailer that you can see below:
Here’s the synopsis for the film as we head into the late game of the series (there is more to come after this (there are two more movies in a trilogy to mark the end of the show).
“As the Demon Slayer Corps members and Hashira engaged in a group strength training program, the Hashira Training, in preparation for the forthcoming battle against the demons, Muzan Kibutsuji appears at the Ubuyashiki Mansion. With the head of the Demon Corps in danger, Tanjiro and the Hashira rush to the headquarters but are plunged into a deep descent to a mysterious space by the hands of Muzan Kibutsuji.”
“The destination of where Tanjiro and Demon Slayer Corps have fallen is the demons’ stronghold – the Infinity Castle. And so, the battleground is set as the final battle between the Demon Slayer Corps and the demons ignites.”
This is going to be a really, really big event, and I would expect it will surpass the totals of Mugen train with a bigger set of battles, and now we’re fully out of the pandemic. Stay tuned.
