Ilia Calderón-Hosted New True Crime Documentary Series Debuts On ViX

TelevisaUnivision’s streaming platform ViX is taking the plunge into true crime, one of the fastest and most popular genres in TV and podcasting, with its docuseries Señales del Crimen con Ilia Calderón (Signs of Crime with Ilia Calderón).

The series, hosted by Univision news anchor Ilia Calderón, revisits harrowing cases that shocked the public. Through the accounts of victims’ families, expert analysis, and journalists, the show unravels the contributing factors and warning signs that ultimately led to each tragic event. With access to personal images, videos, and locations related to the victims and their perpetrators, viewers are taken on a journey into the heart-wrenching stories.

“This first season is dedicated to a tragedy that is unjustly claiming lives worldwide, the suffering and murder of women also known as femicides, in order to help fulfill the wishes of the families’ victims who say: Not One More,” says Calderón, who is also an executive producer of the series.

Season 1 consists of 13 hour-long episodes, with its host sifting through past evidence, conducting new interviews and collaborating with experts to reconstruct and share the stories of the victims.

“Over the course of my 25-year career, I have listened to many stories shared by mothers, fathers and children who have lost a loved one to violence. The first thing they always say is: I don’t want this to happen to others,” says Calderón, who hopes the program will “provide a platform for the loved ones of murder victims to raise awareness on issues that are ending the dreams of thousands.”

Señales del Crimen is produced by CIC Media and executive produced by Marlon Quintero, a former Univision and Sony Pictures Television programming executive, along with Calderón and the ViX team, which includes EP Raphael Rodriguez, Carlos López de la Paz, VP of Content and Production Latin America and Bilai Joa Silar, SVP, Head of Programming and AVOD Content ViX Streaming.

The series be available on-demand in the United States, Mexico, and Latin America. The first three episodes will all be available on Thursday, July 13. New episodes will drop every following Thursday.
