The Crash Team Rumble Closed Beta is here. The classic quirky single-player platformer takes on a new genre with this 4v4 brawler. If you’re not sure how to feel about that—or if you’re super excited at any new Crash Bandicoot content—you should probably try playing the game this weekend.
There are two ways you can go about doing this:
First, you can pre-order the game on PlayStation or Xbox which will get you a Closed Beta key. This requires you to make a purchase, though you can always cancel a pre-order if you decide it’s not your cup of tea.
Second, you can find a content creator or influencer giving away Crash Team Rumble beta keys. You’re in luck, because I am one such individual. I have a limited number of PlayStation and Xbox keys that I’m giving away to readers and subscribers right now (while supplies last!)
If you want a key, head over to this video where I talk about the beta and post rules on how to get a key.
The beta runs from now until April 24th. The full game releases on my birthday, June 20th, 2023. Happy birthday to me!
Personally, while I enjoy Crash and have played a number of the games over the years, I don’t have a deep personal attachment to the characters or games like I do to Mario or Link or Donkey Kong. I know some hardcore fans are upset that this game is an online-only multiplayer title when the thing they love most about Crash Bandicoot is the single-player stuff. I’m more neutral. If it’s fun, it’s fun. We shall see.
What do you think? Fun spinoff or greedy cash grab? Let me know on Twitter or Facebook.
Activision is also running a free weekend for Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare II which I definitely recommend. I know the game has been somewhat controversial and opinions are divided, but I really like it and already have hundreds of hours in the game and Warzone 2.
As always, I’d love it if you’d follow me here on this blog and subscribe to my YouTube channel and my Substack so you can stay up-to-date on all my TV, movie and video game reviews and coverage. Thanks!
