In addition, you need to be aware that if you’re buying USDT with Google Play, you will get a much worse deal than if you used fiat currency such as USD or EUR to make your USDT purchase.

In fact, the premium can be as high as 100%. In our research, we’ve seen offered rates ranging from $1.89 per 1 USDT all the way to $2 per 1 USDT. So, if you have a $100 Google Play gift card, you might only be able to get as little as 50 USDT for it.

Paxful

Paxful is one of the biggest P2P cryptocurrency marketplaces in the world, and it allows sellers to accept Google Play gift cards as a payment methods. While Paxful only supports three cryptocurrencies at the moment, USDT is thankfully one of them.

In order to buy USDT with Google Play on Paxful, register an account on the platform. Then, use the widget on the main page to find USDT sellers that accept Google Play gift cards. You can also enter the amount you’re looking to spend if you want to narrow down your search further.

Then, you will see the list of USDT seller that accept Google Play gift cards. As you can see by the offers, you’ll be paying a very high premium compared to the face value of your gift card

CoinCola

CoinCola is a crypto trading platform with a P2P trading section. Crypto sellers on CoinCola can choose to accept payments with a Google Play gift card. 

After creating an account on CoinCole, choose Tether (USDT) as the cryptocurrency you want to buy, and “Google Play gift card” as your preferred payment method. You will then be able to find all the active offers (if any are available) that match these parameters.

Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to find any active offers to sell USDT in exchange for a Google Play gift card on CoinCola. Still, it’s worth to check it in case any new offers pop up.

BitValve

BitValve is another P2P cryptocurrency marketplace where you can buy cryptocurrency directly from other users and choose between a wide range of payment methods. This also includes the USDT stablecoin. 

After creating your account on BitValve, go to the Marketplace and select “Tether” as the cryptocurrency you want to buy. Then, select “Google Play Gift Card” as your preferred payment method. 

Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to find any active offers matching these parameters at the time of writing this article. However, if BitValve increases in popularity in the future and attracts a larger number of sellers, it could be a good platform for buying USDT with a Google Play gift card.

The bottom line — Google Play gift cards are one of the worst ways to buy USDT

If you have a Google Play gift card and would like to buy some USDT with it, your options are unfortunately extremely limited. You’ll have to use a P2P cryptocurrency marketplace, and find an USDT seller that’s willing to accept a Google Play gift card as payment. 

You will only be able to get a relatively small amount of USDT compared to the face value of your Google Play gift card – for example, a $100 Google Play gift card might only get you $60 or $50 worth of USDT, depending on the specific seller you choose.

If you want to exchange your Google Play gift card for crypto, BTC is a better bet than USDT. In our research, we have been able to find a much larger number of offers from BTC sellers that accept Google Play gift cards compared to USDT sellers.
