How Many Post-Credit Scenes Does ‘Multiverse Of Madness’ Have?

Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness lands in theaters across the US today. The official theatrical release is May 7th, but early previews go live Thursday evening.

The latest MCU film is looking to kick off the blockbuster season with style, proving once again that the movie theater business is far from dead, at least where superheroes are concerned.

Spider-Man: No Way Home was the first film since the pandemic began to really prove that things were not all doom and gloom at the box office. That film went on to become the third top-grossing domestic box office hit of all time (sixth worldwide).

Earlier this year, The Batman rocketed up to #49 of all time, despite being way, way too long.

Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness is sure to set some of its own records. In many ways, this is the Captain America: Civil War of the current MCU phase, weaving together threads from Shang-Chi, WandaVision, No Way Home and more into what is both a sequel to the first Doctor Strange but also so much more.

Doctor Strange 2 Post-Credits Scenes

Now, as you prepare to see the movie—or as you sit in the audience as the credits roll—you might be wondering if, like so many other MCU outings, there are post and mid-credits scenes. You might also be wondering if these scenes are worth sticking around for or if you should make a run for the bathrooms.

Well, here’s some answers.

First off, Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness has one mid-credits scene and one post-credits scene.

The mid-credits scene is definitely worth sticking around for, as it sets up whatever is coming next for the titular Doctor and his bizarro adventures, whether that’s Doctor Strange 3 or some other ensemble affair. This scene falls right after the flashy credits that come before the long crawl.

If you can make it past the long crawl to the very, very end you’ll get to the next scene. This is a bit less important to stick around for if you’re in a hurry (though you could probably make it back from the bathroom in time if you’re quick and lines aren’t too bad). This scene is more of a fun little callback to an earlier scene in the movie.

The one-two punch of a more serious/important mid-credits scene and a more lighthearted/throwaway post-credits scene has been the pattern for Marvel films lately. These used to be a little more random, but it seems they’ve settled into a bit of a rhythm now, which is fine. At least audiences can have a pretty good idea what to expect.
