Microsoft is halting new sales of products and services in Russia, the company said in a statement Friday, joining a growing list of Western companies including IKEA, Apple and Google to distance themselves from Moscow amid its ongoing attack on Ukraine.

Microsoft President Brad Smith said in a statement, “ We are horrified, angered and saddened” by what’s happening in Ukraine, and condemned Russia’s “unprovoked and unlawful” invasion of the smaller country.
Smith said the company is “stopping many aspects” of its business in Russia in line with government sanctions.
