HKEX Will Place Daniel Sonder as Its Co-Head of Emerging Business Development

HKEX announced that it will place Daniel Sonder as its Co-Head
of Emerging Business Development, effective from May 2022.

According to a press release shared with Finance Magnates,
Daniel Sonder, an executive veteran with more than twenty years of experience
from the Fintech industry, has been selected for the position of Co-Head of
Emerging Business Development by HKEX, a major international exchange group
that operates a range of equity, commodity, fixed income and currency markets.

In the role, Sonder will be in charge of directing and advancing
the Group’s emerging business opportunities in data, ESG, carbon and digital
assets alongside his Co-Head, Julien Martin. Both Sonder and Martin will have
joint responsibility for navigating and raising HKEX’s fixed-income, currency,
derivatives and post-trade services offering. Additionally, Sonder will report
to the Co-Heads of Markets: Glenda Sp and Wilfred Yiu.

Checking Out Sonder’s Career

Prior to the announcement from HKEX, Sonder has been serving
as CFO and Investor Relations Officer at B3 for almost nine years.

Earlier on, Credit Suisse benefitted from his experience as
a VP and Director and then moved up to Managing Director of its asset
management division after close to seven years.

Additionally, he took on positions at the Brazilian
Development Bank, the Brazilian government and his first post as Associate
Investment Banking for JP Morgan.

Reflecting on the announcement, Nicolas Aguzin, the CEO at HKEX,
