Here’s What’s Coming To Netflix In July 2022 Including ‘Stranger Things 4’ Volume 2

July is almost here, and with it a fresh batch of new movies, TV shows and Netflix Originals to while away our time with.

Some exciting new content is headed to Netflix, including the conclusion to Stranger Things 4, a new blockbuster action flick from the directors of Avengers: End Game and much more. Read on for July’s highlights and the full list of everything coming to Netflix in July.

Stranger Things 4 Volume 2 (July 1st)

Stranger Things 4 aired its first seven episodes in late May. We’ll get the final two on July 1st. Episode 8 is an hour long but the season finale is a whopping 2.5 hours long—basically a pretty lengthy movie run-time.

The official blurb is short and ominous: “It might not work out for us this time. The epic 2-part season finale of Stranger Things 4 premieres July 1st, only on Netflix.”

It might not work out??? What are you saying, Duffer Brothers!?

The Sea Beast (July 8th)

The story of a young girl who joins a crew of monster hunters on an epic adventure into uncharted waters from one of the co-directors of Moana.

Official blurb: “From Academy Award winning filmmaker Chris Williams (Moana, Big Hero Six), THE SEA BEAST takes us to where the map ends, and the true adventure begins. Starring Karl Urban, Zaris-Angel Hator, Jared Harris, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Dan Stevens and Kathy Burke.

Bill Burr: Live at Red Rocks (July 12th)

I think Bill Burr is hilarious, but he’s not for everyone—least of all the easily offended—as the above SNL opening monologue proves. He’s friends with personas non grata Joe Rogan and Dave Chappelle also, so he’s practically a heretic. But even beyond his very funny stand-up, I’ve really enjoyed him in some of my favorite new-ish shows, like The Mandalorian and the wonderful Reservation Dogs.

Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight Season 1 (July 14th)

Jack Black returns to voice the titular Kung Fu Panda in this new animated Netflix series.

Official blurb: “When a mysterious pair of weasels set their sights on a collection of four powerful weapons, Po must leave his home to embark on a globe-trotting quest for redemption and justice that finds him partnered up with a no-nonsense English knight named Wandering Blade voiced by Rita Ora.”

Resident Evil Season 1 (July 14th)

This trailer for the upcoming live-action adaptation of the wildly popular video game series Resident Evil is better than the first one, which really looked nothing at all like the games. This . . . also doesn’t really look like the games but I’m still pretty curious about it, and it does look at least entertaining.

It just doesn’t look like Resident Evil, and I’m still a little puzzled why it’s been so hard for anyone adapting these games to just . . . use the source material!

Uncharted (July 15th)

I actually really enjoyed Tom Holland’s Uncharted movie. I thought it was great fun and captured the spirit of the games without all the dreary climbing. Sure, he’s a young Nathan Drake and we all wish that they’d made this movie when Nathan Fillion could have played the role, but it really was good swashbuckling fun and I hope we get a sequel.

Umma (July 16th)

Umma actually came to theaters before landing on Netflix but I never even heard of it until I was researching this piece. Sandra Oh is a terrific actor, and this looks really scary so I’m definitely excited to watch when it hits Netflix on the 16th.

The Gray Man (July 22nd)

The Russo brothers’ massive Netflix blockbuster is basically the biggest Netflix movie ever made. Ryan Gosling plays across from Chris Evans, who breaks the mold by playing a psychopathic villain. The movie also stars Ana de Armas, Regé-Jean Page, Billy Bob Thornton, Jessica Henwick, Dhanush, Wagner Moura and Alfre Woodard.

Official blurb: “THE GRAY MAN is CIA operative Court Gentry (Ryan Gosling), aka, Sierra Six.
