Topline
Harry Styles, known for his eccentric and fun fashion choices, has designed a menswear collection for Gucci, deepening his relationship with the luxury brand, the company announced Monday, according to Vogue and the Wall Street Journal.
Key Facts
Called HA HA HA, the 25-look collection was designed by Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele and Styles and will hit stores in October.
The line is “not that cheap” and is focused on “beautiful pieces,” including sport coats, neckerchiefs and topcoats, all with a ’70s look, Michele said.
Key Background
Styles, 28, has a longstanding relationship with Gucci. Styles and Michele began their working relationship together in 2015, with Styles becoming one of the first to wear Michele’s designs from the runway on red carpets. In 2019 Styles and Michele co-hosted the Met Gala, themed “Camp: Notes on Fashion.” In 2020, he famously wore a dress from the brand on the cover of Vogue. Styles has worn Gucci looks in several of his music videos. Last year, Styles—who is known for defying gender norms with his attire, launched a gender neutral beauty line called Pleasing. Earlier this month, executives from Gucci’s parent company Kering announced plans to increase sales driven by “the high potential of Young Millennials and Gen Z” consumers. Styles’ collection is a clear step in that direction.
Tangnet
Styles recently released his third solo album Harry’s House, which reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and received wide acclaim from fans and critics alike. In the fall he’ll star in two movies, Don’t Worry Darling and My Policeman.
