Harry Potter fans petition against the shutdown of Harry Potter: Magic Awakened

Harry Potter: Magic Awakened players are signing a petition against the planned shutdown of the game in thousands. The game is scheduled to be sunsetted by October 29 by WB, affecting players in America, Europe, and Oceania territories.

In a publication on August 26, WB announced that Harry Potter: The Magic Awakened will be discontinued in America, Europe, and Oceania territories. 

The game was removed from Play Store and App Store on the same day of announcement. People who have already downloaded the game can play it till October 29 before the discontinuation in America, Europe, and Oceania regions. However, the game will be available in the Asian territories including China, Macau, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. 

No refunds for in-app purchases of Harry Potter: Magic Awakened

The announcement became alarming for thousands of fans of the game. There will be no refunds for the purchases the fans have made in the game. These fans have shared their concern on social media. A petition was also created which is blowing up with thousands of signees.

The petition is mainly for Net Ease Games to obtain the rights of the game and save it from discontinuation. There are 3,448 signs at the time of writing. Upon refreshing the page, new signatures are pouring in, highlighting the concerns of the fans who want the game to stay.

It’s unlikely the petition will work since the reason for the shutdown seems to be the lack of revenue in the region mentioned above. It does alarm the gamers not to put their money into the new releases due to the uncertainty.
