Green Day is one of several musical acts scheduled to perform as part of Super Bowl 2026 festivities. The pop-punk legends will play during an opening ceremony at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, reportedly taking part in honoring six decades of the Super Bowl and soundtracking former MVPs joining in on the fun.
It seems that the excitement around Green Day’s upcoming performance, paired with continued streaming and sales activity that never disappears for the group, helps one of the act’s most successful compilations reach a special milestone in the United Kingdom (far from where the Super Bowl will take place), one which the rockers have never seen before.
Greatest Hits – God’s Favorite Band Celebrates a Milestone
Greatest Hits – God’s Favorite Band can be found on a pair of rosters in the U.K. this week. The set climbs on both of them and celebrates 350 weeks on the Official Albums chart. That ranking is typically thought of as the most competitive for albums in the European nation, as it tallies the most consumed projects, regardless of genre or whether they sold well or performed spectacularly on streaming platforms.

Green Day sees one of its releases reach 350 turns on the Official Albums chart for the first time. Just two other titles by the band have also cracked triple-digit stays on the roster. American Idiot has managed 128 stints on the Official Albums list, while Dookie, which brought Green Day to the ranking for the first time more than 30 years ago, has racked up 114.
Greatest Hits – God’s Favorite Band’s Chart History
In spite of its longevity, Greatest Hits – God’s Favorite Band holds as one of Green Day’s lowest-peaking titles on the Official Albums chart. The compilation, which debuted in November 2017, has only ever climbed as high as No. 22. Just three additional efforts out of Green Day’s 18 appearances on the all-encompassing albums roster have stalled in lower positions.
Green Day’s Greatest Hits Rises on Multiple Rankings
Greatest Hits – God’s Favorite Band is on the rise on both U.K.-based rosters where it makes a home this time around. The compilation jumps six places north on the Official Albums chart, settling at No. 62. At the same time, the hits-packed project inches from No. 60 to No. 56 on the Official Albums Streaming tally.
Green Day’s Albums on the Charts
Two additional full-lengths by Green Day can be found on at least one list across the Atlantic. American Idiot drops several pegs on the Official Albums Sales, Official Physical Albums, and Official Rock & Metal Albums charts at the same time. Impressively, while American Idiot was initially released more than 20 years ago, the Grammy-winning, politically-charged title lived inside the top 10 on the Rock & Metal ranking only a few days ago.
Dookie, Green Day’s breakout project, can also be located on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart. Just like American Idiot, Dookie also steps back several spaces, slipping from No. 25 to No. 29.
“Basket Case,” “American Idiot” and “Boulevard of Broken Dreams”
Three Green Day albums chart in the U.K., and just as many hit songs by the band are also present. Unlike full-lengths, however, all three of the band’s tracks take up space on the same roster. “Basket Case,” “American Idiot,” and “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” come in at Nos. 21, 25, and 34, respectively on the Official Rock & Metal Singles chart.
