Green Day Is Enjoying Rising On The Charts Once More

Music lovers in the United Kingdom can’t seem to get enough of Green Day. The pop-punk pioneers have been present on the charts in the country for years, thanks to both continually impressive sales, as well as non-stop streaming activity. Not only are multiple projects from the group currently charting, but all of them are on the way up across a variety of tallies.

Green Day Charts A Trio of Albums

Three of Green Day’s full-lengths appear on various U.K. rankings this week. Sometimes, the group occupies fewer spots, but this is apparently a booming time for the outfit. Two of the projects find space on just one roster apiece, while another appears on a pair of tallies. In all three cases, these collections are enjoying upward movement.

American Idiot Makes the Most Noise

American Idiot stands out as Green Day’s top performer in the U.K. this week, at least in terms of the total number of rankings it appears on. The politically-charged, Grammy-winning release is on the move across two tallies.

On the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart, American Idiot lifts four spaces, landing at No. 14 and inching closer to the top 10 once again. It also improves significantly on the Official Physical Albums list, where it vaults more than 10 spots to hit No. 83.

Dookie Keeps Climbing, Decades Later

Not far behind American Idiot is Dookie, the group’s major label debut and the full-length that helped Green Day break into the mainstream nearly 30 years ago. This week, the title climbs on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart, rising from No. 36 to No. 29. Dookie remains one of the band’s most beloved and reliable performers, even if it’s only holding on and finding space on the one tally.

Green Day’s Greatest Hits is Still a Streaming Smash

Green Day also finds a home on the Official Albums Streaming chart, which ranks the most popular projects across platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and others. That ranking usually favors more current releases, but one of the band’s compilations is still going strong, as fans keep pressing play on the full-length…but more likely, a handful of the singles featured on its tracklist.

Greatest Hits: God’s Favorite Band, the cheekily-titled retrospective, lands at No. 51 this week. That’s an improvement of five spaces from the previous period.

Green Day’s No. 1 Albums

Both American Idiot and Dookie have previously hit No. 1 on the charts on which they appear this frame. Greatest Hits: God’s Favorite Band has not topped the Official Albums Streaming chart, but it’s still made a huge impression. The compilation peaked at No. 26, and it has now spent 381 weeks on the list.
