Goldman’s McDermott Predicts Mature Digital Assets Future in 2024

Matthew McDermott, the head of digital assets at Goldman Sachs, predicts businesses that have experienced blockchain’s efficiency are now scaling to maximize commercial opportunities as markets await the Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF).

Predicting the future of digital assets he said

“When you look at collateral mobility, there’s still a lot of inefficiencies that are a function of systems that are many decades old- when you start to see people adopt the technology, they’ll recognize that not only can you see a commercial proposition on the forward, you can see it today.”

The institutional adoption will lead to the maturity of digital assets and also an increase in the liquidity of the tokenized assets in the market.

What Else Matthew McDermott Predicts?

Matthew McDermott also predicts that traditional assets will be tokenized. Less common assets will benefit the most in the section of liquidity, pricing, visibility pricing, and transparency.

He expects digital assets to mature in 2024. More institutions will adopt blockchain and digital assets. On one side the investors are waiting for the Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF), the bank’s head predicted that the companies who see blockchain efficiency are now expected to take advantage of commercial prospects.

However, he agrees that large-scale implementation is needed to have a beneficial effect on companies. He believes that due to the increasing interest rates of banks, the markets for tokenized assets will become more liquid.

Matthew McDermott states “As a result of systems that are several decades old, there are still a lot of inefficiencies when it comes to collateral mobility. However, as people begin to embrace the technology, they will realize that there is a clear commercial opportunity both in the future and as it is now.”

William Quigley in an interview with BeInCrypto predicted that the tokenization sector would find its base in 2024 and reach its full potential in 2030. William is a co-founder of the WAX blockchain.

Matthew McDermott maintains that Bitcoin’s liquidity would be increased because of investments from pension funds and insurers. The U.S Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has to give rules on ETF application by ARK on January 10, 2024.

Experts predicted the SEC to approve all thirteen allocations and ARK to confirm the fair competition. McDermott predicts that the Bitcoin ETF will gain traction as the year progresses and may not show growth immediately.

Summary

Matthew McDermott suggests that cryptocurrency remains an extraordinarily high-margin business opportunity as the institutional deals focus more on digital assets and blockchain. He also predicts that the traditional assets will be tokenized and Bitcoin ETFs will rise slowly. It will show growth as the year progresses.

He also emphasized that investments from pension funds and insurers will increase

Bitcoin’s liquidity.
