The Pound Sterling (GBP) falls sharply against its major peers in Thursday’s early North American after the Bank of England (BoE) leaves interest rates unchanged at 4.75%, as expected. The British currency faces a sell-off as three out of nine members of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) proposed a 25-basis points (bps) interest rate reduction. Only policymaker Swati Dhingra, who has been consistently supporting a more expansionary policy stance, was expected to propose an interest rate cut.
