Panels. Q&As. Exhibitor halls. Cosplay. Autographs and photo ops. Exclusive screenings. Hands-on workshops. Fan communities. And of course, art and collectibles — where one brand dominates every corner.
That brand? Funko. And the stage for all this pop-culture mania? None other than New York Comic Con (NYCC), where Funko’s presence is impossible to miss — and trust me, this writer knows firsthand just how addictive those little figures can be.

NYCC, opening its four-day gathering at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City on October 9, draws fans from around the globe, eager to immerse themselves in comics, anime, movies, TV, games, and collectibles. From the moment the doors open, the energy is electric: lines stretch endlessly, photo opportunities are everywhere, costumes range from superheroes to pop-culture icons, and Funko Pop! figurines appear on nearly every table, shelf, and display.

Enter Kiguzoomies and Funko Fun Squad
For the countless fans of this iconic pop-culture lifestyle brand, Funko has unveiled its new artist-driven product line, Premium Blind Box, debuting with two series: Kiguzoomies and Funko Fun Squad.
The concept? Designed to capture the playful spirit and creative energy at the heart of Funko fandom, the Premium Blind Box line is, per the press release, “rooted in artistic vision and celebrates the creators behind every detail.” For the first time, Funko is launching a dynamic new platform for collaborations rooted in creating a true open area for imagination. The new Premium Blind Box launching globally later this year shines a bright light on the artists’ creativity — giving fans the opportunity to discover bold and imaginative designs, with even more exciting offerings on the way.
“Today’s collectible culture is centered around the blind box experience, which creates a deeper emotional connection through the excitement of unboxing,” said Husnal Shah, Chief Product Officer at Funko. “Since 2013, Funko has been a pioneer in this space. Our new Premium Blind Box line continues that tradition with a unique sense of whimsy, wonder, and surprise, imbued into each character by the artistic vision of the creatives behind the line, resulting in an unexpected joy that keeps collectors coming back.”
The First Two Series
- Kiguzoomies: woodland creatures disguised as other adorable critters, designed to spark joy and conversation. Cozy, character-driven creations that speak to fans who value creativity and charm.

Funko’s Legacy in the Blind Box Space
Funko first entered the blind box arena in 2013 with its Mystery Minis — small vinyl figures that kept fans guessing until the very moment of unboxing. Since then, blind boxes have become a cornerstone of the NYCC experience: the mystery of “what will I get?” sparking excitement with every purchase.
Over the past decade, Funko has expanded the mystery collectible concept across pop culture, anime, games, and more — cementing itself as both a pioneer and innovator in the space. At NYCC, the Premium Blind Box line feels less like a product launch and more like a celebration of what makes Comic Con special: creativity, discovery, and the thrill of the unexpected.
Yes… I will be adding Kiguzoomies and Funko Fun Squad to my personal Funko collection!
