Frank Sinatra’s Classic Sinatra reenters Billboard’s Jazz Albums and Traditional Jazz Albums charts, … More
These days, Frank Sinatra’s music is typically classified as jazz when it appears on the Billboard charts, even though that label might not have applied to his work when many of his tracks and albums were first released. The late crooner continues to find a home on the Jazz Albums and Traditional Jazz Albums lists in the United States, often with one or two titles — and sometimes even more — appearing simultaneously.
This frame is another strong one for Sinatra, as he occupies multiple spots across both rosters. There’s one notable highlight for him at the moment, as one previously-charting set launches a comeback on both lists.
Frank Sinatra’s Classic Compilation Returns
Classic Sinatra: His Great Performances 1953–1960 reappears on both the Traditional Jazz Albums and Jazz Albums charts. It narrowly misses returning to the top 10 on the former, landing at No. 11. Meanwhile, it reenters the broader Jazz Albums tally at No. 15.
Frank Sinatra’s Previous Top 10
Classic Sinatra has previously broken into the top 10 on the two rankings, though it doesn’t manage to do so again this frame. The collection recently passed its first full year on the Traditional Jazz Albums chart, and it has now spent 55 frames on the list. On the all-encompassing Jazz Albums ranking, it celebrates a milestone 70 weeks as it returns.
Frank Sinatra’s Multiple Top Performers
In total, Sinatra fills four spots on the two tallies. This frame, he keeps both Ultimate Sinatra and Nothing But the Best inside the top 10. The former dips slightly, falling just below the top spot and slipping ever so slightly on both charts. Meanwhile, Nothing But the Best holds steady at No. 8 on the Traditional Jazz Albums chart and No. 10 on the Jazz Albums list.
Ultimate Sinatra – Times Two
Further down, yet another compilation of Sinatra’s most beloved tunes, Ultimate Sinatra: The Centennial Collection — which is counted by Billboard as a different release from Ultimate Sinatra — declines slightly. It falls a few rungs on both charts, settling at Nos. 15 and 20 on the Traditional Jazz Albums and Jazz Albums tallies, respectively.
