Police have arrested a 19-year-old suspect after four people were killed and three others were injured in a daylong, citywide shooting spree across Memphis on Wednesday that caused panic and forced the city’s residents to remain indoors.

In a press conference early on Thursday, Memphis police said they have arrested a suspect, Ezekiel Kelly, who allegedly drove around the city, shot at people and live streamed portions of the rampage on Facebook.
The shootings across the city began at 12:56 a.m. local time on Wednesday and continued till 8.30 p.m. before the suspect was apprehended in the neighborhood of Whitehaven at 9 p.m.
The shooting rampage had triggered a “shelter in place” order in certain parts of the city as police tried to track down the suspect.
