KPop Demon Hunters is too big and too current for Fortnite to stay away from for long, and according to new leaks, it will be returning to the game. Some say in January, which would be in the next week, but it’s possible part 2 of the collab is pushed to February, given just how many other additions there are to the game on the way.
The original KPop Demon Hunter collab featured the HUNTR/X girls, Mira, Zoey and Rumi. It was one of the fastest IP launches to IP collabs I’ve ever seen, releasing in October, about 4 months after the movie debuted in June. Wild.
But because that happened, it was somewhat limited in scope with not very many songs, emotes or edit styles, given how many costumes the group wears in the film. Now, KPop Demon Hunters will return for Part 2 of the collab, and we know at least a few bits of what’s coming, though more could be on the way we don’t know about.

There appears to be one new skin coming for the collab, and you might be able to guess who it is. That would be Jinu, soda-popping demon who steals souls but ultimately bonds with Rumi. I would imagine that the edit style for him would be his hat-wearing demon form, which was based on the Jeoseung Saja of Korean lore. Oh my god, I just figured out that’s why they’re called the Saja boys! It means “lion” on its own, but it’s part of that phrase that means “grim reaper” instead. Wow, that’s clever.

Anyway, there are more emotes coming, dance moves among them, no doubt. And it’s seemingly been confirmed that demon cat Derpy is going to appear as a sidekick. I wonder if the three-eye hat bird will be fluttering back bling. Nah, probably his bipa, which he plays in some scenes.
As of now, the answer is no, the rest of the Saja boys, Mystery Saja, Baby Saja, Romance Saja and Abby Saja will not appear as skins (my son made me memorize all their names). A collab that’s eight skins deep would be a lot, so I’m not sure if we’d ever get those other four. Four skins, meanwhile, is about the normal length of a larger collab. But never say never.
As for KPop Demon Hunters, it is sailing toward what may be a pair of Oscar wins after being nominated for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song for you guessed it, Golden. I wish they were able to perform other songs, or the real-life Saja Boys would show up one of these days, but it’s just Jinu in Fortnite, I guess.
