Key Facts
Clark, who worked as Combs’ assistant between 2004 and 2012, described Combs’ clash with Kid Cudi once he learned the rapper was dating Ventura, testifying Combs showed up to Clark’s home in December 2011 with a gun and said: “Get dressed, we’re going to go kill” Kid Cudi, CNN reported.
Clark said Combs drove her to Kid Cudi’s house and that he entered the home while she stayed in the car, at which point she called Ventura to tell her Combs had come to the rapper’s house to kill him.
Clark testified she told Ventura her relationship with Kid Cudi was “going to get us all killed” and urged her to purchase a burner phone, NBC News reported.
After the Kid Cudi break-in, Clark testified Combs beat Ventura “100% full force,” stating she called Ventura’s mother to tell her Combs is “beating the s— out of your daughter.”
Combs fired Clark in 2012 for failing to inform him Ventura was dating Kid Cudi, Clark testified, alleging Combs said she “would never work again” and he would make her kill herself, NBC News reported (Clark returned to work for Ventura as her creative director between 2016 and 2018).
Clark also testified about Combs’ behavior toward her, alleging he once forcefully shoved her while saying, “If you hate it here, get the f— out of my house,” and accused her of stealing expensive jewelry he had loaned, forcing her to take a lie detector test to prove her innocence.
Clark also alleged Combs asked her to obtain illegal drugs and prescription medication for him and withheld $80,000 in overtime pay a Bad Boy Records human resources employee said she was owed, also testifying she developed stress-induced alopecia from working for him, CNN reported.
Clark testified Combs once appeared to threaten his longtime rival, rapper 50 Cent, by telling his manager he had a problem with the rapper and stating: “I like guns.”
What Did Kid Cudi Testify About Diddy Breaking Into His Home?
Clark’s testimony appears to mirror allegations Kid Cudi made on the witness stand last week. Kid Cudi testified he believes Combs “had something to do with” an arson attack that destroyed his car in 2012. The rapper said Combs had broken into his house after learning he and Ventura were dating during a break in her relationship with Combs in December 2011, and that his car was destroyed by a Molotov cocktail weeks later. The rapper also corroborated Ventura’s allegations that Combs would physically abuse her. Ventura took the stand during the trial’s first week as the prosecution’s star witness, describing “freak off” sex parties as drug-fueled nightmares that Combs coerced her to participate in and alleging he subjected her to years of physical abuse.
What Did Diddy’s Lawyers Ask Clark During Cross-Examination?
Combs’ lawyers pressed Clark about her lengthy working relationship with Combs, and she testified she met with his lawyers Marc Agnifilo—who conducted Tuesday’s cross-examination—and Teny Geragos in April 2024, telling them she wanted to serve as Combs’ chief of staff, the Washington Post reported. At that time, federal agents had already raided Combs’ homes as part of an investigation, and Ventura had filed her lawsuit against him months earlier, which Clark said she was aware of. Agnifilo asked Clark to confirm that she said Combs “wouldn’t be in this mess if he had kept [her]
around,” and she acknowledged she likely said that, CNN reported. Clark also testified she had texted Combs in 2021, three years after her employment for him ended: “Did you ever know that I had the biggest crush on you before I started to work for you?” though she said their relationship was always platonic.
What To Watch For
Also slated to testify Tuesday are members of the Los Angeles Fire Department and police department, who are expected to shed more light on the destruction of Kid Cudi’s car.
What Is Diddy Charged With?
Combs has pleaded not guilty to five federal charges: two counts of sex trafficking, two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution and one count of racketeering conspiracy. Combs also faces dozens of civil lawsuits accusing him of sexual assault and sex trafficking, and he has denied all allegations made against him.
