Foo Fighters Keep Climbing With New Surprise Single

About a month ago, Foo Fighters returned with a brand new single titled “Today’s Song.” So far, the track isn’t connected to any album, and the band hasn’t announced a new chapter. That lack of information may be helping the cut, as the mystery has fueled excitement among fans who are now hoping more new music is on the way. The latest from the Grammy-winning group debuted high on several charts when it arrived and has since been embraced across a variety of radio formats in the United States.

New Peaks on Multiple Radio Charts

“Today’s Song” appears on five Billboard charts this week, almost all of them focused on radio. That’s where the track is on the rise, and this frame it reaches a new peak on three of the five tallies it inhabits. The Foo Fighters cut breaks into the top five on both the Alternative Airplay and Mainstream Rock Airplay charts, improving to Nos. 3 and 5, respectively. It also rises higher than ever on the Adult Alternative Airplay tally, leaping from No. 26 to No. 19 in its third frame.

Gains on Hot Hard Rock Songs Chart

While it doesn’t earn a new best showing, the Foo Fighters’ newest tune does gain on the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart, the all-consumption ranking of the most popular hard rock-only tracks in America. In its five weeks on the list, “Today’s Song” has climbed as high as No. 5, and this week it moves up one space to No. 17.

Holding the No. 1 Spot on Rock & Alternative Airplay

“Today’s Song” continues to reign over the Rock & Alternative Airplay chart. The cut earned one of the fastest ascents to No. 1 in the history of that ranking, which measures the most successful tracks at rock radio in the U.S. The song may stay on the throne for some time, as Foo Fighters remain one of the most popular acts in both rock and alternative music.
