Fleetwood Mac Re-Launches Its 50-Year-Old Album Inside The Top 10

50 years ago, Fleetwood Mac released what would go on to become one of the band’s most successful albums, a self-titled collection — its second in less than a decade. The project became a massive commercial win and set the group up for further success a few years later with Rumours.

To celebrate Fleetwood Mac turning half a century old, the self-titled project was recently reissued on a number of formats, including a high-fidelity vinyl pressing. Fans of the band snapped up copies, sending the set to a number of Billboard charts, and the blockbuster even manages to reach a new peak on one ranking.

On this week’s Vinyl Albums chart, Billboard’s list of the bestselling titles on vinyl, Fleetwood Mac reenters at No. 8. That marks a new high point for the full-length on the format-specific tally and the set earns its first frame inside the top 10 on the list.

Despite being released in 1975, Fleetwood Mac didn’t appear on Billboard’s vinyl list until April of this year. Now, in just its second frame, it has climbed to an exciting and meaningful new peak.

Greatest Hits, Rumours: Live and Rumours

Fleetwood Mac has racked up a half-dozen top 10s on the Vinyl Albums chart, in addition to the self-titled full-length. Greatest Hits, Rumours: Live, The Alternate Fleetwood Mac, The Alternate Rumours and, of course, Rumours, have all broken into the highest tier. Of that bunch, Rumours is far and away the longest-charting and most successful, with 424 stays on the tally and just one turn at No. 1.

In a strange bit of coincidence, Fleetwood Mac reenters the Vinyl Albums chart in the exact position where Rumours sat last week. This time around, Rumours falls from eighth place to No. 12.
