Filecoin Integrates Encode and Industry Experts to Empower the Open Data Economy

The hackathon is set to provide developers and innovators with a rare opportunity to shape the future of web3 and explore new possibilities in the data-centric world, signaling Filecoin’s commitment to powering the open data economy.

Moreso, attendees will have the opportunity to explore hacking and learning sessions, as well as mentorship and support from Encode, Filecoin ecosystem members, and other industry experts. The hackathon will also provide participants the opportunity to receive up to $30,000 in bounties according to a tweet from the company.

Encode Club, the Web3 education community, is actively supporting the hackathon. They offer a range of programs, including education series, boot camps, hackathons, and accelerators both online and in-person, with the aim of helping participants secure jobs and funding for their projects and startups.

Notably, the hackathon follows a structured timeline designed to maximize participant engagement and productivity. Starting with an online launch event on August 30th, participants will be introduced to the Filecoin and Encode teams, as well as the hackathon partners, who will provide insights into the bounties up for grabs. The launch event will be followed by a series of workshops hosted by hackathon partners, aimed at helping participants build and refine their projects.

Over the course of three weeks, participants will have the freedom to develop and submit their projects, with constant support from the organizers. In order to achieve this, the Filecoin team will be in regular contact to monitor progress, while check-in calls can be booked for direct support. In addition to this, the hackathon partners will actively engage with participants in dedicated Discord channels to address any technical questions.

As the hackathon draws to a close on September 20th, the best submissions will be invited to pitch live in the hackathon finale event, where they will compete for top prizes. It is important to note that even those not invited to the finale still stand a chance to be recognized as prizewinners, making attending the event crucial for all participants.

The announcement further specifies that registration for the Open Data Hack is open until August 30th, with early registration available until that date. Technical workshops and the finale and prize-giving event are scheduled for late September.
